Be inspired to make your own beautiful and unique artworks.
Hi, I’m Claire
I'm an abstract, mixed media artist with a passion for experimenting and storytelling through my artwork. I have a degree in Art History and a PGCE in Art Education.
I've been working with mixed media for many years and have taken numerous courses. I've spent countless hours experimenting with different materials and techniques and I'm here to share what has worked best for me.
I have exhibited my work widely in the UK and have had paintings accepted in the SWA Exhibition in the Mall Galleries (2025) and Wells Contemporary (2023).
Currently, you can see my work at Aldeburgh Contemporary Gallery in Suffolk, The Squeeze Cafe, in Leigh on Sea and the The Art Buyer, London.
What to expect from my courses
Every course is designed to be flexible, supportive and inspiring – whether you're brand new to mixed media or looking to push your existing practice in a new direction. Here's how it works.
Step by step guidance
Courses are split into short modules to allow you to complete them in stages.
Community
There will be a space for you to share your work and progress with other course members if you'd like to. Once a week I will check in and answer any questions you may have.
A jumping off point
I see the courses as a 'jumping off point' and encourage you to use the techniques to create your own, unique mixed media art. In the Bonus sections, I give you ideas to develop and
your work further.
My Courses
Kind words from my students
Don't just take my word for it – here's what some of my lovely students have shared about their experience of the courses, in their own words. Many have gone on to create whole new bodies of work, and some have even sold their first paintings.
Cat
"The course was so engaging with easy to follow sections and inspiring videos to teach each stage of the process. Claire was on hand to give feedback and answer questions, and the community of artists had plenty of opportunity to share their work and support each other. Thanks to taking the course, I sold my first four paintings in the following months. She's a wonderful teacher and such an inspiring artist."
Lorelei
"The modules are simply laid out, the tasks properly explained and the videos are very good quality. Claire was always supportive if I had queries or would like to show my progress. I never felt alone. This is very important as a student. Not only is she a kind and understanding teacher, she is someone who inspires so many in the creative community."
Sharon B
"The course was very clearly presented, with lots of demos and clear instructions. It gave me everything I needed to get started immediately. Crucially, the course enabled me to apply the learning to my own practice, approaches and interests, and not just to 'copy' Claire's own work. Over the space of just a few weeks I created a whole body of work. I have been very inspired!"
Patricia L
"I particularly enjoyed learning about Claire's photography techniques and use of various apps. It helped me take better photos and apply different techniques to use in my artwork."
Sue P
"I really enjoy Claire's teaching, she shares her skills and knowledge freely. Claire encourages you to roll with your own interpretation which is perfect for me."
Wendy C
"Thanks so much for this course, it's opened my eyes to so many possibilities."
